Classic Car Events to Enjoy This Summer
There’s no shortage of exciting events for classic car lovers this summer. Here are a few local events to consider:
The British Motor Show 2024 - 15th – 18th August
Farnborough International Exhibition Centre, Hampshire
The British Motor Show is the fastest growing motor event and it’s right on our door step!
This full-blown family extravaganza is designed to ignite a passion for all things automotive.
The show is open to car clubs and owners clubs if you are interested to display your vehicle. There is no cost to owners to display and all owners will be given complimentary access to the show – nice one!
From vintage classics to dazzling car displays, celebrity encounters, virtual car experiences and a family funzone, you can be sure of a great time.
Car Fest - 21st-25th August
Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire
For those familiar to Car Fest, you’ll know it’s about much more than cars. Created by Chris Evans to help raise funds for UK Children’s Charities, Car Fest is the largest family fundraising festival in the UK.
Although cars remain the heart of the festival, you can also now enjoy Spa Fest, Adventure Fest, KidsFest and Food Fest. Not forgetting a world class line up of music.
CarFest also invites car clubs who wish to exhibit. Here is a link to get in touch with the event organisers. https://carfest.org/car-club-enquiries/
The Classic Car Show and Concert at West Green House - 22nd September
Hartley Wintney, Hampshire

We support this local car event every year and are delighted to do so again in 2024! Each year this local car show continues to attract many car enthusiasts who bring their loved and treasured cars to display in the parkland in front of West Green House.
The format presents a relaxing vibe, where you can meander along the rows of vintage and classic cars, enjoy the new BBQ temptations and this year, The Jersey Boys are performing 2 hours of non-stop Frankie Valli hits to close the show. What a treat we have in store in 2024!
The Goodwood Revival – 14-16th September
Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester

This nostalgic event takes place at the Goodwood Motor Circuit and transports visitors back to the golden age of motor racing. Expect a glamorous atmosphere, historic racing, and a stunning display of classic cars. With so many visitors choosing to look the part when it comes to dressing in-period for Revival, it’s no surprise they also want to turn up in style. As a result, the Revival Car Show has always been crammed with rare and wonderful classics. In fact, it’s no surprise that with something like 3,000 tax-exempt machines vying for attention, event visitors already find the spectacle something of a distraction on their way to the racing. Remember to reserve your complimentary place in advance as this car park will sell-out before the event.
Preserve your classic’s beauty this summer
While summer is a fantastic time to enjoy your classic car, it’s important to take steps to protect it from the harmful effects of the sun.
Protect Your Paintwork
UV rays can cause your car’s paintwork to fade and crack over time. Consider using a high-quality car cover when your car is parked outside. Regular washing and waxing will also help to protect the paintwork.
Shield Your Interior
The interior of your classic car is just as susceptible to sun damage as the exterior. Use window shades or tints to protect the dashboard, seats, and carpets from fading and cracking. Leather and vinyl interiors should be regularly conditioned to prevent drying and cracking.
Check Your Tyres
High temperatures can affect tyre pressure, so it’s essential to check them regularly. Underinflated tyres can lead to uneven wear and blowouts, while overinflated tyres can reduce grip.
Keeping Your Classic Car in Pristine Condition
To ensure your classic car looks its best, regular maintenance is key.
Here are a few tips to keep your vehicle in top condition:
Regular Servicing
Keeping to a regular service schedule is essential for the long-term health of your classic car. Our expert technicians at Foster & Heanes can provide comprehensive service and maintenance to keep your car running smoothly.
Detailing
A professional detail can make a world of difference to the appearance of your classic car. We can recommend some fantastic detailers in the local area who offer a range of detailing services to restore your car’s shine and protect its finish.
Secure Storage
If you’re storing your classic car for extended periods, it’s important to choose a suitable location. A dry, well-ventilated space is ideal. We can also recommend some local car storage facilities who offer de-humidified, secure storage for your treasured classic car. At the very least, consider using a car cover to protect it from dust and moisture.
